what is double pane?

A double pane also known as an insulated glass unit (IGU), consists of two panes of glass sealed by an insulating spacer in between the two panes. A spacer is constructed of moisture-absorbing materials that prevent moisture from penetrating the air space between the two panes of glass.

Can you remove fog from a double pane?

Foggy glass also referred to as a broken seal, or fogged glass is a double pane or insulated glass that’s seal has been compromised. When a seal has been compromised moisture starts to make its way in between the double panes resulting in a foggy appearance on the glass. When you see these signs it is time to replace the double pane glass. A double pane glass is made with special machines that create and air pressure between the panes, therefore it cannot be taken apart. In doing so, you will compromise the spacer, the air pressure, and further develop the issue.
